#63: Mental health, sports, and the "I'm just here so I don't get fined" phenomenon with Hymes

CONTENT WARNING: sexual assault, anxiety, depression

Y'ALL THIS IS A HELLUVA EPISODE. My old pal "Hymes" shares tons of embarrassing stories of me from college, of course. But, we also get into an incredible conversation about Naomi Osaka's incredible stance on mental health in the face of athletic organization's bullying, and we talk about the people who came before her. Obviously this includes the whole "I'm just here so I don't get fined" press conference. This of course turns into our own mental health journeys, our thoughts on the things that are done to us, and some thoughts on overcoming. PSA- there are some difficult to hear admissions in here, so do be careful. We really had a ton of fun with this. Hymes is a sports journalist and has a podcast/youtube channel of his own, so his expertise is so awesome in this convo! I truly hope this makes you think about mental health, athletes, and athletics organizations in some new, critical ways!!! love you!
